Summer Mode

We are in full-on summer mode around here and, as such, I just want to be out enjoying the sunshine. We have had last days of school, dance recitals, gymnastics meets, lacrosse tournaments, beach days, gardening fun, snow cones… I am finding it difficult to be motivated to spend my days working in the studio.

My baby starts Kindergarten this fall. 😦
My oldest will go on to Middle School in the fall. He and his sister have such a special bond. She is sad because he won’t be at the elementary school with the rest of the kids next year.
Getting all five kids to smile at the same time is always a difficult task
I grew radishes for the first time this year
Summer treats are my favorite!

Lately, my “work” has included a lot of cleaning and organizing. Tell me if you relate to this: I needed to make room in the garage for a new project I’m working on, so I cleaned and organized in there. In the process, I realized that some of the things that were in there are actually better suited for the shed. So, the next day, I cleaned out and organized the shed. In the process, I found a few things that I needed to just get rid of– sell or donate. So, I started making a pile of things to sell/ donate in the garage. That made me realize that I have a bunch of stuff in the storage rooms to sell/ donate, so now I’m onto those rooms. It’s the “if you give a mouse a cookie” idea.

I know this doesn’t look like much, but it was a LOT of work to get these things organized!
I took this photo to prove that I could park in the garage, if I wanted to. 😉

As for felting work, I have completed some fun and unique projects lately, like this crazy corn head hat and tractor stuffy. This is one of my more time consuming props– every kernel is stitched into place. I decided to count the individual kernels and have my social media followers guess. What’s your guess?

The theme lately seems to have been “yellow”. 😉

I made this cute little stuffy some weeks ago and the customer wanted a matching hat.

Another super fun project I recently completed is this Tinkerbell wig. How cute is this!?

I have also been making some posing dolls lately. They are such a helpful tool!

I think this dinosaur set is stinking adorable!

Here’s to another productive and fun-filled week!
