Seersucker Suit

Oh, you guys!  This has got to be one of my favorite things I’ve ever made… ever!  And, I’ve made a LOT of things.

I have two pregnant sisters currently.  A few months ago, the last time we went on vacation, my sisters and I threw a baby shower for one… and this time we went on vacation, we threw a shower for the other.  They are both having boys! (That takes the boy count to 5 and the girl count to 4)ImageThis shower’s theme was Little Man, using mustaches and bow ties.  It was really cute.

ImageBut, what I really want to show you is this gift I made for Baby Cash Money:

ImageI drafted the pattern for both the jacket and the pants.  I decided that I wanted to do French seams on the pants, but I forgot to add extra fabric for seam allowance.  The finished pants fit a little slim in the first place, but with the loss of all of those seams, they ended up being really long, about a size 0-3 month (I was going for 12 month to match the jacket).

So, I made new pants, using a really nice white bottom weight fabric.  I put a very small tuxedo stripe down the side seams using the seersucker fabric.  They ended up super cute… and, of course, I forgot to take any pictures of them. I’ll have to have my sister take some.

Well, the whole thing turned out adorable!  I’ve already had a few people ask about purchasing a suit.  I just set up a new etsy shop, where you will be able to find all of my latest creations (hopefully).  You can always just message me on facebook, comment on any of my blog posts, or email me (chelsie83@gmail.com) to get current pricing and to order anything you’ve seen here.
